KIMMELL -- Miss Glendolene Myrtle Kimmell, 70, of 484 Almond Avenue, died September 12 in a Long Beach hospital.  She was a native of Missouri and came to California in 1927, residing in Long Beach since 1946.  She leaves no known survivors.  Private Services were held this morning in the chapel of Montell’s Mortuary.  Interment was in Westminster Memorial Park

GLENDOLENE MYRTLE AND HER SWEETHEART
CHEYENNE, Wyoming, November 4

As the result of her bold attempt to save the life of her lover, Tom Horn, under sentence of death here for the murder of Willie Nickell, Glendolene Myrtle Kimmell, the little schoolteacher, at the Nickell-Miller ranch at the time of the killing, has been arrested upon the charge of perjury, and should the sentence of Tom Horn be commuted to life imprisonment, which is considered improbable, she will serve a term in the same prison with her lover.

The information against Miss Kimmell was sworn out by Prosecuting Attorney W. R. Stoll of Laramie and mailed to Sheriff E. J. Smalley here, reaching him yesterday morning.  He went at one and had it sworn to before Justice A. E. Trump and placed Horn’s sweetheart under arrest.  She is now confined to the county jail with Horn, although occupying a cell in the woman’s ward, isolated from the murderers row, and the condemned cattle detective is not yet aware that his sweetheart is a prisoner in the same jail.

The information charges that Miss Kimmell willfully, knowingly and corruptly swore to am affidavit in the county of Jackson, state of Missouri, setting forth that she knew that Victor Miller was not at the breakfast table at the Miller ranch on the morning of July 18, 1901, the day Willie Nickell was killed near his home at Iron Mountain.  Miss Kimmell
was subpoenaed as a witness before the coroners inquest which investigated the Nickell murder.  At that time James E. Miller and his son, Victor, were under arrest upon the information furnished by Kels P. Nickell, who stated that it was Jim Miller and his son who shot at him five times twelve days after Willie Nickell had been killed.

Miss Kimmell at that time testified that she was at the breakfast table on the morning of the 18th, and stated that every member of the Miller family was at breakfast on time that morning.  It conclusively proved an alibi for the Millers, and upon this testimony they were released, Miss Kimmell testifying that all the Millers were at the breakfast table on the morning that Willie Nickell was shot.

The arrest of Miss Kimmell is only one of the sensations the state will spring in answering the m**** of testimony presented to Governor Chatterton by Horn’s attorneys.  In connection with Miss Kimmell, portions of Horn’s confession and which have not been made public will be revealed.

Three witnesses will make affidavits that in his confession Tom Horn stated that while at the Miller ranch he used to sleep out in a tent with the Miller boys; that after the boys went to sleep he would lift up the flap of the tent, and steal away to the house, which he would enter through the window in the room of Miss Kimmell, which was left open for this purpose, and thus spend the evening with his sweetheart, returning to the tent in the morning before the others awoke.
